City of Hitachi is, of course, known for one of the biggest and famous electric companies in the world, Hitachi. Hitachi Tech High School is in the same town of one of their factory and a research institute. Alice talked to about 200 students.
日立市は電器メーカーHitachiのお膝元の街です。その工場や研究所と同じ街に、日立工業高校はあります。今日は200人の二年生に対してのセツコさんの講話会でした。

For about an hour, they listened her story with all ears.
1校時分の時間、みんな真剣に話を聞いてくれました。
They gave us a school tour which was really interesting.
Especially for me who grew up in Japan,
but had no idea about tech high school here,
I was so excited to see what they are learning at school.
Those boys learning 'Japanese fine skills' are sooo cool!
その後、時間をかけて校内を見せて頂きました。
日本で育ちながらもこういった高校のなかのことを知らなかった私は、
見るモノ、聞くものに大興奮でした。
こういう技術を真剣に身に付けていく若者達、カッコイイです！

自動車のエンジンを作っている、クラブのようです。
リッター1000キロ走る。。。。って、とんでもないですね。
記録は1700キロだとか。

配線も学びます。この辺とか、授業だけでも楽しかったけど
実習がこんなに多かったらますます楽しかっただろうなぁ。
海からの霧が濃く立ちこめた日でしたが、
